Announcement regarding the derbydata.com Arizona Power Rankings

This week, both DDRD and AZRD have released their season schedules. DDRD is going to be offering us a nice robust 6 bout home team season with a Championship Bout. AZRD has announced a very radical schedule which includes dates in Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott and possibly Cottonwood. There is also some suggestion that there may be an "All Arizona" championship title (The May date in Tucson). I had pushed something similar to both TRD and AZRD over the past couple of years. Now with Dirty Verde and Northern Arizona ramped more up, a true Arizona "conference" of leagues that follow WFTDA rules is now possible. I totally support this type of a tournament.

With this new Arizona Conference, it will not diminish in any way the Arizona Power Rankings statistics that I track and publish on a periodic basis. The derbydata.com Arizona Power Rankings will remain a power score for all of the leagues that play "one point per skater passed" roller derby regardless of whether they follow WFTDA, OSDA, house rules or banked track standardized rules. The Power Rankings were designed to adapt to those variations.
